Students from Oshawas university will
present their findings on different ways to
deal with drug-addicted criminals at the
fifth annual student research day.
On Aug. 22, undergraduate and
graduate students from the
University of Ontario Institute of
Technology (UOIT) will present
their results from research related to
alternatives to traditional criminal
justice measures in dealing with
drug-addicted offenders.
In addition,
students will be creating an interactive
learning tool designed to help learners
understand Canadas Charter of Rights and
Freedoms and improve technology to
process waste tires into marketable products.
More than 70 students from the universitys faculties of Business and
Information Technology, Criminology,
Justice and Policy Studies, Education,
Engineering and Applied Science, Energy
Systems and Nuclear Science, Health
Sciences and Science will share their
research findings while demonstrating
first-hand the significant research opportunities
UOIT offers to students.
Dr. Christopher diCarlo, an assistant
professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences
will be the keynote speaker at the event.
His presentation, Natural Systems:
A Collective Understanding of
Humanity, will include a discussion
of his Relations of Natural Systems
project.
The event will be held on Aug.
22 with the keynote presentation at
11 a.m. in the east atrium in the
Science Building.
Poster presentation will run from
1 to 4 p.m in the Business and Information
Technology atrium.
