Oshawa’s two beaches are still posted as unsafe for swimming. Both Lakeview Beach East and Lakeview Beach West are posted again by the Durham Region health department
due to elevated bacteria levels. Kinsmen Beach in Scugog is also unsafe.

All other Durham Region beaches are open. Throughout the summer, the Region sends water samples to the Ontario Ministry of Health lab in Peterborough. The lab determines which beaches have elevated bacteria levels and those are posted as unsafe for swimming.
