Durham police are trying to take a bite out of crime.
For six weeks throughout the late winter and spring, members of the Durham Drug Enforcement Unit conducted project Bulldog, targeting street drug trafficking in the area.
As a result, police have charged 42 people with 132 criminal code and controlled drug and substance offences.
Five firearms were seized during the project and 12 search warrants were executed.
More than $150,000 worth of drugs was also seized throughout the investigation.
The drugs seized include 323 grams of cocaine, 6002 grams of marijuana, 51 marijuana plants, 1096 ecstasy pills, four litres of GHB and several types of prescription drugs.
Investigators also seized of $38,804 in Canadian currency and three vehicles.
