OxyContin drug ring dismantled
June 16, 2010

Several people are in custody after an undercover police investigation into the illicit OxyContin drug trade in the city.
Members of Durham’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted the undercover investigation recently and were successful in purchasing OxyContin pills from two of the accused men.
Officers were then able to establish probable sources of the illicit drugs from suppliers at different homes across Oshawa, they say.
Police executed a search warrant at the home of one of the accused and found more drugs and cash. In total, the undercover investigation yielded more than 100 OxyContin pills with a street value of more than $5,000.
An 18-year-old man of Hillcrest Drive, a 43-year-old man of Hillhurst Crescent and a 34-year-old man of Glen Street are all charged with trafficking and various other drug-related offences.
Police have also issued an arrest warrant for a 43-year-old woman of St. Lawrence Street for drug offences relating to their investigation.
