Dear Editor:
It seems Canada has no
true exit policy from the
Afghanistan Manley report
and we have no clear policy
for being there.
Sometimes
we might be fighting the
Taliban, sometimes supporting
Hamid Karzai
Government (although we
can’t train them properly to
take over this charge), providing
humanitarian services or
supporting a US foreign policy
through a very limited
NATO alliance.
The most realistic picture
for supporting Canadian
troops is to rotate them out of
harm’s way and if not that,
then “BRING ‘EM HOME”.
Our foreign policy seems only
on this war with decades of no
clear final success on the
horizon.
Again, Canada should
rotate our troops from harms
way now, or bring ‘em home.
