The Oshawa Generals have nabbed a highly touted prospect, they say.
Lucas Lessio has signed a standard Ontario Hockey League (OHL) agreement with the Oshawa team, Head Coach and General Manager Chris DePiero announced recently.
After going in the first round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection to the Niagara Ice Dogs, Lessio played last season with the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
The 17-year-old Maple native scored 30 goals, earning 72 points and added 77 penalty minutes in 41 games.
He also added three points in five games with the Buzzers in the 2010 CCHL Playoffs this past season.
“We are very pleased to welcome Lucas to our family, we’re excited that he has chosen the Oshawa Generals and the Ontario Hockey League to further his hockey development,” says DePiero.
