“You know what?” seems to be creeping into almost every conversation among my circle of family and friends and now I find I am using it.
For example at a recent family wedding I caught myself in the following conversation.
My son: "Don't Luigi and Danielle make a lovely couple?”
Me: "You know what, they do look wonderful, but I can hardly wait for his better looking twin to get married."
“You know what?” is contagious! So many of us are starting sentences with “You know what?” 
You know what, maybe many readers are yet to be infected. But, you know what, that will soon change.
You know what? Regretfully, it may soon become as much a part of our language as “What's Happening?” or “How's it going?”
As a public service and in an effort to stem this tide, I list below 25 suitable responses to the opening comment, you know what? When someone starts a conversation with you know what? You can now respond with, "yes, I know" and use any of the following 25 answers:
