Cab driver threatened, robbed
August 18, 2010

A man has earned himself a spot behind bars after robbing a taxi driver in the city with scissors.
Police got the call from the distressed taxi driver who said she was flagged down by the man near Porter and Cedar Streets around 3:30 a.m.
She told police that the man, once in the cab, told her to take a detailed route before grabbing her and holding scissors to her throat. She told police he threatened to kill her before forcefully removing her money and taking off into a nearby-forested area.
The 58-year-old woman driving the cab wasn’t hurt.
Police brought in the K-9 team and the man was found and arrested along with the weapon.
The 25-year-old, who has no fixed address, is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and a dangerous weapons charge.
