Durham Police have changed their non-emergency telephone number.
Effective today, DRPS has replaced the 905-683-9100 number, which was a former administrative phone number, with a 1-888-579-1520, a toll free number accessible from all municipalities.
“A Bell message on the former 905-683-9100 line will instruct callers to use the toll-free line,” police say.
The 911 number should still be used in emergencies, they add.
