Truck smashes into home
August 25, 2010

Police are looking into why and how a pick up truck was driven into a house on Ritson Road South recently.
Just after midnight last week, residents were awakened by the loud screeching of tires followed by a loud crashing sound, police say.
A grey pick up truck had crashed into the front concrete steps of a house, causing damage to the vehicle and the home.
Police say the driver failed to remain at the scene so once officers arrived they began searching the area.
Around 1:30 a.m. police got a call that a local resident had detained an intoxicated man between two houses on Oshawa Boulevard South. The man was arrested but police are still trying to determine if he’s connected to the crash in any way.
Police say they believe the pick up truck was traveling east on Stacey Avenue, failed to stop at the stop sign at Ritson Road, and then proceeded across Ritson before running into the home.
Witnesses to the crash are being asked to call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5100.
