My name is LeeAnn Wilson. I have been involved in the sport of baton twirling in Oshawa for over 40 years. Last May I was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame and that was a very proud sporting moment for me.

I have just finished reading your article in the Jan 30 paper about the newly revamped sports section! Standing ovation to you all! You get it! Athletes, coaches and managers are the key to any sports success!

And let me tell you, this recognition does boost their training momentum. My daughter just last week was CTV Calgary's Athlete of the Week! After filming this she was motivated to be so much better she spent twice as much time in the gym training than normal.
