The finest local women basketball players are prepared to go toe-to-toe for a good cause during the XXcel Charity All-Star Game, which will take place on August 13 at Durham College.
Running from 1 to 4 p.m. on campus, the game is dedicated in memory of Marian Crome and will raise funds in order to sponsor a child through World Vision and support Ovarian Cancer Canada.
Included in the festivities will be a game featuring the top 20 players from the XXcel Women’s Basketball League, a three-point competition ($2 to enter) a “Bump” challenge ($1 to enter) a vertical jump challenge ($1 to enter) and a free children’s game.
Also included is a silent auction with great prizes, like an autographed basketball from the Boston Celtic’s Glen “Big Baby” Davis.
The event, which also features a bake sale, can be attended for $5.
