Oshawa Power host skills showcase

September 14, 2011

The Oshawa Power held a skills showcase this past weekend at Durham College.

Local players were encouraged to come out and display their talent in front of team management, including Head Coach Mark Strickland and President of Basketball Operations Gary Durrant, among others.

Denham Brown and Jevohn Shepherd of the Canadian Senior Men’s Basketball team were on hand and were very active by mentoring and coaching the participants, fresh off their trip to the FIBA AMERICAS tournament in Argentina.

Former Pickering high star and San Antonio Spurs 1st round draft pick Corey Joseph and brother Devoe Joseph, currently playing in NCAA division I basketball for the Oregon Ducks, were also  there to lend moral support to potential Oshawa Power players.

With training camp less than a month away the Power is quickly becoming of one the hottest tickets in Durham Region.

Be a part of history, and help Oshawa and Durham Region create “OUR-story” with chapter one being the start of our inaugural season.

Tickets can be purchased at the GM Centre box office, Oshawa Centre Kiosk or by calling:

1-877-554-8457, 1-877-436-8811, by email at tickets@powerbasketball.ca or online, www.generalmotorscentre.com
