Junior lawn bowlers take to the bowling greens

The 35th Annual Hunter Junior Lawn Bowling tournament swept through the Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club recently, and it was an Oshawa bowler that took home second place in the single’s competition.

Cameron Veltman of Oshawa earned a silver medal in the singles portion of the competition for competitors aged 21 and under.

Ben van Steign of Cobourg earned the gold medal in that spot. In the open pairs division the gold went to Kirsten Burke, Lindsay and Quincy Garry of Uxbridge while second place went to Alex and Nicole LeBlanc, also of Uxbridge. In third place was Baylee van Steign and Amanda Goodall from Cobourg.

The 4,3,2,1 section for novice bowlers was won by Curtis Crum of Lindsay while the silver spot was captured by Patrick Carty, also of Lindsay. In third place sits Lindsay’s Yannick Grignon.
