Potatoes are being
dug out of the ground
on farms across
Durham Region.
So potato lovers get
ready to enjoy these
locally grown tasty
taters.
Potatoes are nutritious
and contain zero
fat and cholesterol.
They have almost half
the recommended
daily intake value of
vitamin C as well as
numerous other vitamins
and minerals.
In the region, there
are blue potatoes and
fingerlings, which
aren’t as well known
as the Yukon Gold and
Chieftain varieties.
Fingerlings have a
creamier texture than
most, so there is no
need to put milk or
butter in when mashing
them.
