Durham Police have arrested four men, two from Oshawa, after a series of break-ins of homes on federal airport lands in Pickering.
Police were called to Toronto Airport Authority Properties on two separate occasions after two abandoned homes were broken into over the past week.
All of the charged men were found in the area and were arrested for multiple charges stemming from the break-ins. Police say there was damage done to the homes because the accused attempted to steal metal piping and copper wire from the structures.
The two Oshawa men, ages 22 and 28, are facing two counts of break and enter to commit theft, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of break and enter tools.
The other men charged, a 19-year-old from Scugog, and a 33-year-old from Oakville, are facing similar charges, police say.
Durham Police say the homes on the airport lands are private property and are security patrolled 24-hours a day.
