Man points imitation handgun at others

An Oshawa man is facing a slew of weapons charges after he threatened several people with a handgun, police say.
The 28-year-old man was arrested at his home on Iris Court at gunpoint around 5:30 p.m. recently.
Police were called to the area of Ritson and Taunton roads for reports of a man threatening others with a handgun. Police gathered information from witnesses at the scene who told police the man had fled the scene in a vehicle. Police say they were given the licence plate number and were able to locate the vehicle outside of an Oshawa home.
A replica handgun was seized and police say no one was hurt.
The man is charged with breach of recognizance, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with an imitation weapon, assault, carrying a concealed weapon and pointing a firearm.
He was held for a bail hearing, say police.
